Knee Decompression

Knee on Trac

The Knee-On-Trac is a non-invasive knee pain therapy that offers a revolutionary solution for those that live with everyday knee pain. This device addresses the root cause of chronic discomfort. Knee joints are surrounded by fluids that are there to regenerate the adjacent membranes, cartilage, and tissues. Knee on Trac therapy safely and gently isolates and opens space in the knee joint creating a vacuum that pulls these replenishing fluids back into the knee joint, rehydrating the area and decreasing inflammation. This is called “decompression.”

Studies show that mechanical traction was more effective in decreasing pain and improving quality of life than using conventional methods alone. The studies also investigated the reduction of symptoms after mechanical traction alone with conventional therapy. The results were shown to have significant improvement!

HOW DOES IT DO THIS?

Decreases inflammation, allows re-hydration, increases range of motion, and speeds up healing process!

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT?

A typical session is 5 to 10 minutes depending on the patient’s condition and need. Once seated, your leg will extend at a comfortable angle. A strap is used over the upper thigh and an inflatable cuff is used just below the knee to secure the leg. Your therapist will then customize the Knee-on-Trac equipment with the appropriate settings based on your condition. You will feel a gentle separation of the knee joint.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?

Most patients see positive results in the first few treatments. Some patients may experience some mild soreness after the first few treatments if the degeneration in the knee joint is very advanced or a lot of scar tissue is present. Your treatment will often be combined with other therapies designed to produce the fastest and best result for your condition. Total number of treatments recommended will depend on the severity of the condition along with personal treatment goals.
